Most important of the inspections is your DOT inspection. Stay Legal and catch repairs early.
Due annually however it's good practice to do these twice per year.
Light inspection of basic items. These are good to have anytime your truck is down. Includes Brake check and tire check.
Full front to back multi-point inspection. More extensive than a DOT inspection. This also includes all filters, and engine oil replaced and grease the chassis.
Purchase with peace of mind. Full inspection and evaluation of condition of vehicle. Appraisal of value and ECM report included. Everything below is included in the pre-purchase inspection.
Current status of any vehicle goes far beyond what you need on the dash. The ECM can have stored permanent codes just waiting to throw a light once that specific system is activated during a drive cycle. It shows the readiness monitors for emissions and current status. A very important aspect to knowing if you will run into problems shortly after purchase.
You need to know if your vehicle has a salvage title or any other status that can hurt the value. Also, if it has a lien or loan against it. If it has ever had body & collision damage with a claim submitted. These are all things that will significantly affect the value of the vehicle. Also very important to verify there are no odometer discrepancies.
